FAQ
The questions below explain what Latelyy is, why it was started, how Blend works, and where the company is headed.
Latelyy is a city-discovery platform that helps people find better-fit restaurants, nightlife, events, and activities while also giving businesses analytics and visibility inside that decision flow.
Latelyy serves two audiences. Personal users use it to discover places and plan with friends. Businesses use it to understand engagement, improve visibility, and learn what kinds of people are responding to their venue.
Traditional map products show broad search results. Latelyy is designed to feel more curated by factoring in preference, context, and social planning so the decision process feels less noisy and more intentional.
Blend is Latelyy’s group-planning feature. It lets people invite friends into a shared session, align around category, budget, and timing, then surface the strongest shared options instead of arguing through a group chat.
Latelyy was started after repeated frustration with how hard it still felt to discover the right place, even in cities full of great options. The goal was to make discovery feel smarter, more social, and more premium.
Latelyy was founded by Theliau Jaouen Steffener, a University of Ottawa Telfer School of Business finance student who built the company around a consumer-first and operator-aware view of city discovery.
Businesses get a dedicated operator-facing experience that includes visibility inside discovery, analytics across views, clicks, saves, and Blend activity, plus customer-fit insights designed to make growth decisions clearer.
The current rollout starts with Ottawa. The broader ambition is to expand city by city while maintaining a high-quality recommendation layer and a premium brand standard.
